Profits, on the other hand, saw a significant rise of 10%, with total net income reaching US$1.7 trillion.

New York City remained the top headquarters for Fortune 500 companies, with 41 firms based there, followed by Houston with 21 companies. Chicago and Atlanta continued to be major business hubs, with 15 and 14 Fortune 500 companies, respectively.
DoorDash Debuts in Fortune 500
The American food delivery company DoorDash made its debut on the Fortune 500 list in 2024, reflecting its rapid growth, particularly in the Americas. With a compound annual growth rate of 77% since 2019, DoorDash has solidified its position in the American eCommerce landscape.
The company’s expansion beyond restaurant delivery is highlighted by its partnership with Best Buy, enabling quick access to tech products during the holiday season. DoorDash is also a key player in Japan's food delivery market, competing with local giants like Demae-can and Rakuten, and other entrants like Uber Eats.
